Woodbine Feature To Ontario-Sired, Will Take Charge

 

Will Take Charge was put into play early in Monday’s $34,000 Preferred Trot at Woodbine Racetrack, and that aggressive approach helped the gelding sail to a handy victory in the featured affair.

With Jody Jamieson in the bike, Will Take Charge powered to the lead from Post 3 and had the others chasing him past the opening quarter in :27.1. He came under attack from the parked out Il Sogno Dream in the backstretch, and eventually gave way to that foe.

Il Sogno Dream cruised past the half in :56.2 before being confronted by a pocket-popping Will Take Charge at the three-quarter station in 1:25. Will Take Charge swept to the top and used a :28.4 closing quarter to win by a length over Free Willy Hanover in 1:53.4. Mister Herbie rallied from next-to-last and wound up finishing third.
