On the heels of the well-organized Halton Horse Power Farm Tour, Town of Milton councillors have acted swiftly.
On Tuesday, September 25, Council crafted an official letter to Premier Dalton McGuinty expressing their alarm over the dubious future of the horse racing industry and the importance of the equine sector to their local economy.
Milton’s official Resolution asks the Province of Ontario, “to urgently work with horse people & organizations within the Horse Industry to seek every opportunity to ensure the long-term viability of horse racing and breeding, as well as the wider Equine Industry as they are all vital to the economic and social well-being of our communities.”
