SBOA recently submitted an official letter to the Ontario Government’s Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs, currently holding hearings on Bill 55 concerning the Ontario Budget.
On June 7th, President Anna Meyers was invited to provide a verbal synopsis of the SBOA submission and she fielded questions from the nine-person multi-party committee. She underlined the breeders’desperate need for government action well before the September yearling sales, citing the trmendous financial losses already imposed by the cancellation of the Slots at Racetracks program.
