SBOA Owner Mentoring Program to Start Shopping at the Canadian Yearling Sale

The SBOA’s Owner Mentoring Program hosted its organizational meeting recently and co-ordinator Liz Waples introduced individuals in the group to trainer Tony O’Sullivan and Mentor Brian Webster.

Education for the participants begins in earnest at the upcoming Canadian Yearling Sale. There they’ll join O’Sullivan and Webster in performing due diligence to pick out an Ontario- sired yearling with the potential to be a factor in next year’s OSS program.

If the group is unable to find a yearling at the Flamboro auction that meets their criteria and within their budget, they’ll be out shopping in full force at the Forest City Yearling Sale, Oct. 15-16 in London, ON.

All spots are filled in this year’s Mentoring Program, with one position being reserved for the winner of the OSS/SBOA Win the Thrill competition. Grassroots Final night at Mohawk, Saturday, October 1st will determine who will win their $4500 share in the new owners group.

Finalists in the Win the Thrill contest so far (through Sept. 6th), are listed here.

SBOA’s Owner Mentoring Program began in 2005 and has enjoyed remarkable success. More details on the program can be found here.
