SBOA Donates To REACH

The Standardbred Breeders of Ontario Association has announced a major donation of $25,000 to the Regional Equine & Agricultural Centre of Huron in support of the centre’s contribution to the future of horseracing in Ontario.

Located in Clinton, Ont. (50 kilometres west of Stratford on Highway 8), the state of the art equine and agricultural centre is a vitally important resource to the standardbred breeding and horseracing industries.

REACH is a 40-acre indoor/outdoor facility which contains an indoor show ring, an outdoor show ring, stables, artificial insemination lab, teaching barn, farrier science centre, teaching amphitheatre, a comprehensive education centre, dormitory space for students and much more.

The centre will become Central and Western Ontario’s foremost equine teaching and skills training centre for the equine industry. Its robust relationships with the University of Guelph, Equine Guelph and other key educational and industry agencies made it an ideal location for this significant investment by the SBOA.

“I would encourage everyone in the standardbred breeding and horseracing industry to visit REACH,” said Jim Bullock, SBOA president. “You will have no trouble understanding why the SBOA board is a proud donor and pleased to be recognized through the Standardbred Breeders of Ontario Association Teaching Amphitheatre. Together with REACH, our commitment to our members and our industry is very clear and exciting.”
