Pemberton Tops Preferred Foes At Mohawk

Pemberton made every pole a winning one en route to victory in the $32,000 Preferred 2 Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday, March 4.

Bert Renaud and the Julie Walker student left hard from the outside in the field of six, securing the lead. As the pacesetter for the mile, Pemberton clicked out panels in :27.1, :57.1, and 1:26.2 before going on to win by one length in 1:53.4. Locatelli (Sylvain Filion) finished second and Patriarch Hanover (Doug McNair) completed the triactor.

Pemberton is a seven-year-old Wheeling N Dealin-Dayshift gelding co-owned by Brenda and Christine Walker. He has $525,179 earned and a record of 15-5-6 from 41 career starts. As the bettors’ choice, Pemberton paid $5.50 to win.
