OSS Grad, Bernadette, Wins $25,000 Feature Race At Woodbine

The winning streak is now three-in-a-row and counting for OSS grad Bernadette, who rallied to a 1:51.3 score in Friday’s $25,000 feature race at Woodbine Racetrack.

In rein to Doug McNair, Bernadette slid into the four-hole while P L Hurricane roared to the lead and carved out the first quarter of :27.2. Request For Parole powered out of the three-hole as the field moved into the backstretch, and she went on to muscle her way to the front. She sped past the next two panels in :56.1 and 1:24.1 before getting gobbled up. Bernadette hugged the pylons and kicked home in :26.3 to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Sayitall BB, who edged out Rubis Prescott for the place award.

Trainer Ron Adams co-owns the four-year-old daughter of Big Jim-Matilda with David Kryway of Amherstburg, Ont. Purchased privately earlier this year, the seven-time winner is perfect for the new crew. She’s banked more than $146,000 to date.
