Ontario-Sired, Watch My Luck, Takes Elimination Of Lady Elements

Sisters Watch My Luck and Tajmeallover invaded Fraser Downs on Sunday afternoon (November 12) and swept the $10,000 eliminations of the Lady Elements for Alberta-based horseman J.F. Gagne.

The half-siblings, out of the As Promised mare Watch Over Me, used different strategies to win their respective eliminations, which were contested over a sloppy track.

Watch My Luck ($5.40), a five-year-old Camluck mare, went wire-to-wire in 1:56.1, holding off the passing lane plunge of favourite G Ts Jamie with No Guarantees following in third.

Older sis and defending Lady Elements champion Tajmeallover ($3.60), sired by Tajma Hall, circled a field of six distaffers to win the second elimination in 1:54.2 by two lengths as the odds-on favourite. Showtime Terror came on for second over the front-striding Phone Terror.

Both mares are owned by Gagne, Peter Van Seggelen and Carl Warnaar, with Tapron Holdings Ltd. also part of the ownership group on Tajmeallover.
