Ontario-Sired, Ms Mac N Cheese, Takes $30,000 Preferred In Woodbine

Finding the winner’s circle is something pacing mare Ms Mac N Cheese has mastered the art of over the years, and on Friday evening at Woodbine Racetrack she racked up the 24th win of her career thanks to a pylon-skimming score in the $30,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace.

Ms Mac N Cheese left alertly from the rail for driver Louis Philippe Roy, who managed to tuck his charge into the two-hole behind stablemate Witch Dali.

That speedster muscled to the lead from Post 5 and carved out panels of :26.3, :56.2 and 1:25.1 before coming under attack. P L Hurricane was first-over after the leader and Roy was biding his time in the pocket awaiting room to open up at the rail – and it did. Ms Mac N Cheese shot through late and prevailed by a neck over P L Hurricane in 1:53. Artistic Madison came on late to finish third.

Richard Moreau trains the six-year-old daughter of Badlands Hanover-Mr Delis Filly for owner David Ratchford of North Sydney, Nova Scotia. The mare, who recently surpassed $700,000 in career earnings, is now 2-for-2 to begin the season.

It was a solid night at the office thanks to a hat trick performance for the tandem of trainer Carmen Auciello and driver Jonathan Drury.

They clicked in the opener with Air Glider (1:55) and added wins in Race 5 with Barockey (1:54.1) and Race 10 with D Gs Pesquero (1:55.2).
