Ontario-Sired, C L Art, Wins Seven-In-A-Row

The winning streak is now seven-in-a-row and counting for pacer C L Art Magic, who was the handiest kind of winner in the Thursday evening opener at Woodbine Racetrack.

Trained by Stephane Larocque, C L Art Magic shot to the lead for driver Sylvain Filion, who enjoyed a four-win night, and marched the field through fractions of :26.4, :55.3 and 1:24.3 before using a :28.3 closing panel to seal the deal in 1:53.1. It was 2-1/4 lengths in arrears to runner-up Soaking Up The Sun. Third prize went to Jake Loewen.

The homebred went 2-for-12 last season, but he’s really come to life this season for the Quebec partnership of Ecuries C Leblanc Inc of Saint-Eustache and Sebastien Girouard of Laval. The four-year-old son of Artistic Fella-Mado Magic has banked just shy of $50,000 to date.
