The first session of the London Selected Yearling Sale of the sale begins on Saturday (October 14) at 12:00 p.m. at the Metroland Media Agriplex.
Standardbred Canada and Forest City Standardbred Sales Inc. have collaborated to present the London Selected Yearling Sale, which will take place at the Western Fair District Metroland Media Agriplex in London, Ont. on October 14 and 15, 2017.
Prospective yearling buyers have access to some of harness racing’s hottest stallions at the London Selected Yearling Sale, such as Mach Three, Kadabra, Shadow Play and Sportswriter, along with first-time stallions Royalty For Life, Sunfire Blue Chip and Sunshine Beach, who will be presenting their first crop of youngsters.
A total of 120 yearlings will be presented on Saturday, October 14, and the balance of the yearlings be presented on Sunday, October 15. The action begins both days at 12:00 noon.

On both the Saturday and Sunday, there will be three FREE 30-minute workshops, sponsored by Ontario Racing and Ontario Lottery & Gaming. The workshops will start at 9:30 a.m. and run through to 11:30 a.m.
- Ask The Experts – (9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.) This session will feature trainers and officials who will answer your questions about Finding A Trainer & Yearling Sale Shopping
- How To Read A Pedigree – ((10:15 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.) This session will teach you how to decipher all of that valuable info on a yearling’s pedigree page
- Understanding Conformation – (11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.) This session will offer information on what you should look for when inspecting a horse
There is no cost to attend but seating is limited, so please register in advance.

If you’ve never owned a racehorse before and are coming out to the London Selected Yearling Sale this weekend, make sure you stop by the Welcome Centre to enter “The Win A Share in a Racehorse” contest on Saturday and Sunday.
The winner of this contest, sponsored by the Ontario Sires Stakes and presented in conjunction with the LSYS, will receive a share ($2,000 value) in LandMark 11 Stable which already includes two Ontario-sired horses.
The London Selected Yearling Sale also features an Equine Expo sponsored by Ontario Racing and Ontario Lottery & Gaming, showcasing 14 different associations and businesses from within the equine industry.
In addition to the Equine Expo, there will be a complimentary breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. compliments of Gateway Casinos in the refreshment area in the lobby.
