Four-In-A-Row Wins In Century’s Open For Ontario-Sired, Iwontdothatagain

The winning streak is now four-in-a-row and counting for Iwontdothatagain thanks to his come-from-behind triumph in Monday’s $10,000 Open Pace at Century Downs.

Iwontdothatagain got away last in the six-horse affair for trainer/driver Kelly Hoerdt, and together they held that position through the first half. Cool Cowboy sped through fractions of :27.1, :55 and 1:25.1 before being confronted and eventually overtaken in deep stretch by Iwontdothatagain. Hoerdt rallied the gelding to the win by three-quarters of a length over Cool Cowboy in 1:54.2. Race favourite Da Magician took home the show dough.

Despite the hot streak, Iwontdothatagain was sent off as the third choice in the wagering for Hoerdt and partner Ed Keryliuk of Edmonton, AB. The six-year-old son of Stonebridge Regal-Island Nessie is now a 10-time winner this season from just 16 trips to the track. The 16-time winner pushed his lifetime earnings over $100,000 with the victory.
