Flamboro Preferred To Ontario-Sired, Make Some Luck

Make Some Luck returned to action off a seven-week layoff to take Sunday night’s featured $11,500 Preferred 2 Handicap Pace at Flamboro Downs.

In his first start since the Mohawk meet in mid-October, Make Some Luck swept up from third and confronted pacesetter Boomboom Ballykeel at the 1:24.2 third quarter mark before drawing off by two lengths in the stretch to score the 1:53.4 victory. Sent postward as the 2-1 favourite, he paid $6.60 to win. Don Mcwhite and Reel came on for second and third over Boomboom Ballykeel.

Stephanie Jamieson trains the son of Camluck while her husband Jody drives and co-owns with Rene Allard. The victory was the eighth of the year for Make Some Luck, who has banked $126,757 in 34 starts. Lifetime, the five-year-old gelding has won 22 times with the latest win pushing his earnings over the $400,000 mark.

A pair of $8,500 Preferred 3s were won by the Tim Myers-trained Bringhome Theblue (Scott Coulter) in 1:55.4 and John Powell’s War Filly (Colin Kelly) in 1:55.3.
