Eight Straight For Ontario-Sired, Mach One

When it comes to winning races, not many horses do it any better these days than pacing gelding Mach One.

The three-year-old son of Mach Three-Sold Out made her eighth straight trip to victory lane during Thursday’s card at Flamboro Downs.

Mach One got away fourth in his $8,100 assignment, but her commenced a first-over bid on the way to the half for driver Scott Young. They were second and pressing the leader at the three-quarter pole, and a :29.4 closing quarter was good enough for Mach One to hold on for the neck decision over My Teen Idol in 1:58.

Mark Winacott trains the photogenic performer for Michael Timpano and Seaspray Stables Ltd. The victory improved the gelding’s 2017 record to 9-2-1 from 15 trips to the track. He’s banked over $37,000 to date.

Thursday’s card also featured the second leg of the Alliance Series for filly and mare claiming pacers.
