Consignors to the 2012 Canadian Yearling Sale were called to a special meeting in Mississauga, ON on Thursday, June 28th to discuss the possibility of postponing the annual auction until a date in late October.
Despite widespread industry uncertainty following the Ontario Liberal Government’s decision to cancel the Slots at Racetracks funding to racing, most breeders at the meeting favoured proceeding with the sale as previously scheduled for Flamboro Downs on September 15-16.
The Standardbred Canada Sales Committee today (June 29) officially confirmed that the Yearling Sale will go ahead on the third weekend in September.
