Matt McIntosh from ‘Better Farming’ has written an article about the Ontario Standardbred horse breeders lawsuit. In the article Mr. McIntosh interviews Tammy McNiven from Twinbrook Farms in Ingersol and Walter Parkinson from Seelster Farms in Lucan.
Tammy McNiven explains how the Standardbred breeders in Ontario were kept in the dark about the “out-clauses” contained in the confidential agreements between the tracks and the provincial government which allowed the SARP to be cancelled on one years notice. This, she says, left the breeders unable to prepare for the financial trouble caused by the cancellation.
